The Sun Goes Down (Living it Up)
Lewis thought that she was going to go crazy. She thought that she was never
going to leave. Clover was a good cook, but still…
The farmer shook her head. She just needed to get home. Aisha tried to hold them
all hostage. Why couldn’t she take no for an answer? William didn’t want them
there. Their leader just had to barge in. Why didn’t they just walk away? Oh
yeah.
“She just won’t let us,” Lewis said to herself. It was then she noticed a fancy
car on her property. The farmer tilted her head.
“Huh?” she asked. Lewis slowly walked up the grassy path. She had a good guess
of who was here. The farmer made it up to the front door and unlocked it.
“Hello?” she asked. She found her niece and some man sitting on the couch.
“Auntie?” Kat asked. The farmer walked over to them with her finger pointing at
them.
“This your boyfriend?” she asked.
“No,” Kat said.
“Yes,” the young man said. Her niece turned to him, glaring. Lewis frowned.
“Ex, then?” she asked.
“No,” the young man said.
“Yes!” her niece shouted. The farmer frowned. She could already see where this
was heading. Lewis put up her hands.
“Okay, okay, okay,” she said. “What’s going on here?” Kat turned away with arms
folded across her chest. The young man lowered his head.
“What is your name?” the farmer asked.
“Rocky,” he said.
“Uh-huh,” Lewis said. Kat clicked her tongue.

Tucker and Annie came back home. The couple didn’t say a word to each other.
Tucker looked over at his wife.
“How was dinner?” he asked. Annie glared at him. Her husband gave her a strange
look.
“What did I do now?” he asked.
“It wasn’t worth it,” she muttered.
“But that’s where you wanted to go,” Tucker said. Annie sighed and shook her
head.
“I’m going to bed,” she muttered to herself. Annie walked towards the back of
the café. Tucker frowned and shook his head.
“Happy birthday to you too,” he said to himself. “Yep, yep. That was the waste
of an evening.” He followed Annie to their room. Crowded, overpriced, bland
food, and less than professional staff. The building looked pretty, but it
wasn’t worth it in the end.
“I could’ve told you that,” Tucker said to himself.
“What was that?” Annie asked.
“Nothing!” he shouted as he went up the stairs.

William sat alone at the kitchen table. He just wanted to be alone in his head.
Hopefully, the girls’ grandmother would be gone by tomorrow. Tonight’s dinner
was too much. Why couldn’t Aisha just mind her own damn business? He kept
telling her no, but she just had to push past him and come in. The only thing
that made it bearable was Clover’s cooking. Her food could bring peace around
the world.
His thoughts were interrupted when heard footsteps coming towards him in the
kitchen. William looked up to see the old lady standing in the doorway. She had
a sad look in her eyes.
“What?” William asked. Her voice trembled when she spoke.
“I think I’m going to die,” she whispered. William gave her a strange look.
“What?” he asked.

Lewis stared at Kat and Rocky on the couch. Already, she didn’t like the guy.
However, she wanted her house back. Would it be so bad if…?
“Rocky,” the farmer said.
“Yeah?” the young man asked. Lewis began to smile for a bit.
“Can I talk to you for a moment?” she asked. Rocky gave her a confused look.
“Why?” he asked.
“Just come with me,” Lewis said. She pulled the young man to his feet and pulled
him outside with her. The farmer looked over her shoulder at her niece. She gave
her a wink and walked out the door. The niece just sat there for a moment before
getting up and listen in. The door closed in her face. Kat gritted her teeth and
made a wailing noise.
