Total Eclipse of the Heart

There were missions to get certain people out of their houses. Lewis and William couldn’t take this anymore. Their guests had to go. But first, that was going to take work.

Clover was the first to notice it.

“Is something wrong?” she asked. William quickly looked up. His niece stood inches in front of him. She cocked her head to the side. The old man sighed and dropped his shoulders.

“Your gran is driving me crackers,” he said. Clover frowned.

“Is she really that bad?” she asked.

“Yes!” William said. “I don’t even know why she’s here! She can’t stay here! If I have to see her face one more time, I will go crazy!” He grabbed the sides of his head and groaned. Clover was about to speak, but she froze. William happened to notice the look on her face.

“What?” he asked. His niece pointed behind him. The old man frowned.

“She’s behind me, isn’t she?” he asked. Clover didn’t answer. William turned around. There was the grandmother standing in the doorway of the living room. She had a deep frown on her face.

“Oh…” the old man said. The old lady shook her head.

“No, no,” she said. “I get it. You don’t want me around.” William folded his arms across his chest and nodded.

“Yes,” he said. “Why did you even come here?”

“I just wanted to see my babies,” she said. William turned to Clover. She had a hurt look in her eyes. The old man rolled his eyes. Not this again.

“No. I’m not doing this. Not today! No! No!” William shouted. He threw his hands up in the air and walked off. Clover and her grandmother looked at each other with confused looks on their faces.

Aisha raised her eyebrow.

“What happened now?” she asked. Lewis broke into a huge grin.

“I found a way to get Kat out of my house!” she said. Muriel blinked for a moment.

“How?” she asked. The farmer leaned in close to her face.

“Her boyfriend is here!” she said. Her friends looked confused.

“Which one?” Clyde asked.

“I don’t know and who cares?” Lewis asked. “I’m jus trying to get them back together so that she gets out of my house!”

“You sure this is a good idea?” Muriel asked.

“Yes!” the farmer shouted. “I want my house back! And this will be the way to do that!”

“But what if she doesn’t like him?” Aisha asked.

“She will if I have anything to say about it!” Lewis said. She turned and walked back into the living room. Clyde, Muriel, and Aisha looked at each other.

“We have to stop this,” the leader whispered.

“’Ow?” Clyde asked. Aisha glared and smacked her in the head.

“Ouch,” the dirty old biddy said.

“How?” Muriel asked.

“We have to try,” Aisha said. She marched into the living room after the farmer. Muriel and Clyde had no choice but to follow. They would be lying if they said they didn’t want to see how this went down.

Tucker was going to try and keep the peace today. Annie was in a good mood this morning. They hadn’t even opened yet. If he could just get through one day without a shouting match, everything would be fine.

He took in a breath and flipped the sign to open. Take to get to work. Then, the phone rang.

“I’ve got it!” Annie said. Tucker took a look around the café. Everything looked like it was in place. The Sunny Plum was clean with the chair sitting around the tables. The kitchen was ready to go. Even Tucker was ready to tackle the day. What could possibly go wrong?

Annie walked into the café part of the store with heavy eyes.

“Annie, what’s wrong?” her husband asked. She looked like she was ready to cry.

“Aunt Jo’s death,” Annie whimpered. Tucker walked over and hugged her. She cried against his chest.

“I’m so sorry to hear that,” he muttered. Well, it wasn’t yelling, but the day to keep everything calm was gone now. Oh boy…

The old biddies sat across from Kat and Rocky. Clyde tilted her head.

“Who are you again?” she asked.

“Rocky,” the ex said.

“Do you want to get back together?” Aisha asked him.

“Yes,” he said.

“And what about you, Katherine?” the leader asked.

“No,” Kat hissed.

“Please?” her aunt begged.

“No!” the younger woman yelled. Lewis gritted her teeth as Muriel tried to hold her back. Rocky tried to hold Kat’s hand, but she drew it back.

“Look baby, I’m sorry,” he said. She rolled her eyes.

“Sure you are,” she muttered.

“I really am!” Rocky said. Kat wrinkled her nose and stood up.

“This is some bollocks,” she muttered to herself. Everyone watched as she walked out of the living room. Rocky frowned.

“Now what?” Muriel asked. Lewis breathed her head in hands and groaned. Well that didn’t go as planned, now did it?
