Here is the News/Ticket to the Moon

“William,” Muriel said. “What are you doing here?” The old man looked behind him for a moment.

“Will?” she asked.

“I have a little problem,” he whispered. Muriel looked behind her in her house.

“What’s wrong?” she asked, slipping outside. The old biddy closed the door behind her. William raised an eyebrow.

“Is something wrong?” he asked.

“Never mind that,” Muriel said. “What is wrong with you?”

“Oh,” William said. “It’s Liz. She’s brought over her boyfriend.” The old biddy gave him an odd look.

“You mean Trevor?” she asked.

“No, this is a new guy,” William said.

“What?!” Muriel asked. He looked over at his house next door.

“They are in there right now,” he whispered.

“Okay… So what do you want me to do?” she asked.

“I don’t know!” he said. “Just help me!” Muriel looked behind her at her door. Her friends were still in there. She frowned to herself. What choice did she have? The old biddy turned back to her neighbor and dropped her shoulders.

“Fine,” she said. “I’ll come with you.”

“Cheers,” William whispered.

“Right,” the old biddy said. She followed him next door.

Gloria swayed around in the streets. She giggled to herself as she twirled around. The old biddy was too lost in her world to notice everyone staring at her. Gloria pressed her hand against the Sunny Plum’s door. Annie and Tucker looked up at the sound of the bell and giggling. Tucker raised his eyebrow.

“Hello, Gloria,” he said. The old biddy whirled around.

“Oh, Annie! Tucker! How are you doing? It’s so good to see you!” she said. The couple chuckled in a nervous way.

“Good,” Tucker was quick to say. “What can we get for you today?” Gloria perked up when he asked.

“The usual,” she said.

“Coming up,” he said. Gloria danced her way over to a table. Annie watched her with a nervous look on her face.

“Where are your friends today?” she asked. The old biddy smiled as she shrugged.

“Don’t know. I haven’t seen them lately,” she said. Gloria flipped back her short faded red hair. Annie’s eyes shifted left and right as she hummed to herself. Tucker got to work in the kitchen. How long before the four old biddies would be joining her? Annie fought to keep herself calm and smiling for business. Maybe those old ladies won’t be coming here.

She had her doubts.

Aisha, Lewis, and Clyde sat at Muriel’s table. The leader looked up at the clock on the wall.

“Where did she go?” she asked. Lewis and Clyde shrugged. Aisha frowned and folded her arms across her chest.

“Well, that’s just rude,” she said. “We are her guests. A host should not abandon their guests.”

“Maybe she had an emergency,” Lewis said. Aisha looked up at her.

“She should’ve told us,” she said. “What kind of emergency could she have had that would cause her to leave us?”

“I ‘hought ‘hat was Billy out ‘here,” Clyde said. Aisha smacked her in the head.

Ow!” the dirty old biddy said.

“She might be right,” Lewis said. The leader rose to her feet.

“We will have to go and see,” she said.

“Do we have to?” the farmer asked. “She might come back.”

“Nonsense,” Aisha said. “If an emergency then she needs our help.”

“But...” Lewis said. The leader had already gone out the door. Lewis and Clyde looked at each other. They dashed after her as they could see where this was heading.
