Beach Vacation

One year later and they were back. Noiz stepped off the bus, shielding her eyes. It felt great to be back. She raised her arms in the air.

“We’re back, baby!” she shouted.

“Yes, we know,” someone said behind her. Noiz turned to see Louise stepping off the bus. The kitty shrugged at her.

“Hey, come on!” she said. “We’ve been waiting all year for this!”

“Yeah, yeah,” Louise said. “We know. We know.” Everyone else walked off the bus. This time, they had a bigger group. Noiz clapped her hands together. She could already tell that this was going to be an epic summer.

“Now, everyone!” she said. “We were lucky to get another year to do this. You will be on your best behavior! Am I clear?” The staff all groaned.

“Yeah, yeah!” Josie shouted. “Can we get to the fun part now?” The kitty sighed.

“Yes,” she said. “Stay safe everyone and have fun.”

“Yay!” they all cheered. Everyone ran down to the beach. Noiz didn’t even try to shout. She just followed behind with the crowd.

“You came up with this last year?” Mosh asked as he walked by Noiz towards the water.

“Uh-huh,” she said.

“What gave you the idea in the first place?” he asked. The kitty stretched her arms above her head.

“We just needed to get away for the summer,” she said. “So I figure why not here?” The younger ones were already playing in the water. Some of the women got out their books and started to read. Noiz turned to her boyfriend.

“Now let me ask you something,” she said.

“Hm?” Mosh asked.

“How are you enjoying working at the academy?” Noiz asked.

“It’s alright, I guess,” he said. His girlfriend gave him an odd look at the edge of the water.

“What do you mean?” she asked. Mosh shrugged his shoulders. Miho and Andi splashed each other in the sea. T.J. sat with Tony and Art whispering to each other in a circle. The mouse boy shrugged.

“It’s not something I’m used to yet,” he said. “This my first real job.”

“I think you are doing a good job,” Noiz said.

“Thanks, but it still feels weird,” Mosh said. Noiz smiled as she walked towards the water. The mouse boy blinked for a moment.

“Noiz-sama?” he asked. The kitty walked straight into the water and turned to him with her ankles submerged.

“Come play with me!” she shouted. He gave her a blank stare.

“You sure about that?” he asked.

“Come on! Come on!” Noiz shouted. She started to splash at him, laughing. Mosh stood up straighter.

“Oh, is that how it is?” he asked. Noiz splashed at him again and laughed. The mouse boy puffed up his chest.

“Okay then,” he said. “If that’s how you want to play it…” Mosh ran into the water and started splashing his girlfriend back.

“Hey!” Noiz yelled. She splashed him back harder. The couple started laughing. Meanwhile, Andi watched them and sneer.

A huge wave hit her in the side. She turned to see Miho grinning at her.

“Got ya!” she shouted. Andi pouted at her.

“You!” she screamed. She splashed her girlfriend back, resuming the fight.

“Look what I got!” T.J. shouted with a watermelon raised high above his head. Brooke turned her head and grinned wildly.

“Sweet!” she shouted. “I get to beat my record again!” The staff crowded around for another summer tradition.

“I’m going to get it this time!” Brooke shouted. Art handed her the bat and blindfolded her. She grinned to herself as Tony spun her around for the attack.

Feels Like Summer
